The upgrade of the automatic fire extinguishing system in the air compressor area of the underground nitrogen generation chamber at Huojitu Well of Shendong Coal Daliuta Coal Mine was successfully completed. Taking “intelligent detection and accurate response” as the core principle, this upgrade built a reliable and efficient intelligent fire monitoring system, through integrating dedicated sensing equipment and optimizing the system structure. The system not only successfully realized closed-loop management of the whole process covering fire risk identification, alarm and treatment, but also achieved the goal of fully automatic underground fire extinguishing, building a solid line of defense for safe production in key underground equipment areas.
The new system had three major advantages including high sensitivity, strong linkage and low false alarm rate. Equipped with three key sensors including GHZ5 flame sensor, GQQ5 smoke sensor and GWD100 temperature sensor, it improved risk detection and linkage efficiency by multi-sensor integrated structure. The flame sensor could independently trigger fire extinguishing, realizing immediate response to fires. The temperature and smoke sensors adopted an “AND logic” design. They would start treatment only when both detected abnormalities, effectively avoiding misoperations caused by single device misinformation. The system was equipped with sound and light alarm devices. An alarm was sent synchronously once any fire extinguishing unit was triggered. Combined with fire extinguishing actuators linked with electric ball valves, it realized a fully automatic process of “signal input – valve startup – dry powder release”. The system status could be directly monitored through pressure gauges in daily operation, making it easy for maintenance.
This upgrade significantly improved fire prevention and control capabilities in this key area. The collaborative operation and intelligent judgment of multiple sensors effectively ensured the safe and stable operation of key underground equipment including air compressors. The upgrade also further improved the underground operation safety prevention and control system, building a solid intelligent protection barrier for the safety of underground operators and equipment.
