Coal Industry’s First Labor Standards Research Base Established at Shendong Coal

The Coal Industry Labor Standards Research Base, jointly established by Shendong Coal and the Chinese Academy of Labour and Social Security, was recently inaugurated, marking the successful launch of the first such research base in the coal industry at Shendong Coal.

As a concrete measure to implement the requirement of “improving the labor standards system and the mechanism for consulting and coordinating labor relations” outlined in the CPC Central Committee’s Proposal for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, the inauguration of this base opens a new chapter of collaboration between the Academy and Shendong Coal. Both parties will focus on addressing core industry challenges such as “inconsistent labor standards and uneven management efficiency”, by building three functional systems: “standards leadership, practice guidance, and talent cultivation”. They will actively explore new pathways and methods for labor standards management.

At the implementation level, the collaborators will focus on three key areas: strengthening the foundation of standards through systematic research to foster new advantages for industry development; building a collaborative platform to integrate resources and stimulate new momentum for transformation; and cultivating professional expertise to forge a capable force for implementing standards. Through a series of initiatives, these efforts will build a foundation and provide impetus for upgrading labor standards in the coal industry, fostering new production relations, and developing new quality productive forces. Simultaneously, they will offer solid theoretical basis and substantial practical support for the formulation of relevant national industry policies.

Shendong Coal will uphold the principles of openness, cooperation, and innovation. Centered around this base, it will solidly construct a “collaboration network” for the base’s development, transforming it into an open and shared industry exchange platform. Concurrently, the Company will deepen the work of standard formulation, actively explore “methodologies” for talent growth, smooth employee career development pathways, and form talent cultivation models suited to new production methods. It will continuously enhance the industry influence of labor standards management, create a Shendong Model with demonstrative, leading, and practical application value, and contribute benchmark power to the high-quality development of the coal industry.
