On May 18, CHN Energy Java Power Plant successfully hosted the “Reviving the Mangroves” Replanting Activity for the Java-7 Project, which is an important part of the “Reviving the Mangroves” China-Indonesia Sustainable Development and People-to-people Exchanges Series Activities.

During the activity, more than 40 guests including government officials, experts, community representatives, and media reporters from China, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Malaysia, gathered at the Java Power Plant to witness the achievements of ecological protection of mangrove. Guided by the Plant interpreters, the guests visited key operational areas including the centralized control room, steam turbine room, seawater desalination system, and coal terminal, gaining in-depth insight into the Company’s innovative practices in low-carbon power generation and energy conservation. At the 80-meter-high boiler viewing platform, the interpreters recounted the Company’s efforts in promoting mangrove and wildlife protection. The guests observed real images of mangrove growth during the project’s early and infrastructure construction phases and praised the Company’s dedicated ecological and environmental governance and outstanding results.

At the mangrove seedling replanting ceremony, the guests actively planted mangrove saplings and released fish, injecting vitality into the ecological oasis. Omar, a local community representative, noted that the Java Power Plant not only provides stable, high-quality power supplies but also regards ecological protection as its own responsibility. During the ecological restoration process, priority was given to employing local residents, thereby improving the ecological environment and creating job opportunities. This has transformed local villagers into active participants and beneficiaries of ecological conservation, exemplifying the Company’s fulfillment of social responsibility.

The Company has made sustained efforts to expand the mangrove forest area from less than 5 hectares at project inception to 19 hectares today. The health conditions of the ecosystem have significantly improved, attracting more rare wildlife and effectively protecting biodiversity. Lush forests and bird nest-filled branches vividly reflect the Company’s persistent dedication to the ecological protection of mangrove and wildlife.
