On November 26, the 7th Green Development Conference of Petroleum and Chemical Industry was held in Beijing, where Baotou Chemical was honored with the title of 2024 “Green Factory” in the Petroleum and Chemical Industry.
Since the beginning of 2024, Baotou Chemical has been committed to prioritizing ecological conservation and pursuing a green and low-carbon path to development. Through advanced process technologies and equipment, the Company has optimized production processes, reduced energy consumption, minimized waste emissions, and enhanced resource utilization, laying a solid foundation for green, low-carbon and sustainable growth. The Company has implemented a series of energy-saving projects, including the transformation of waste heat boilers in MTO unit, high flash gas recovery from gasification processes, steam recovery from gasification deaerators, optimization of boiler coal pulverization systems, internal upgrades of deaerators, and recovery of C3 from methane tail gas, addressing operational bottlenecks and improving energy efficiency. Additionally, Baotou Chemical has undertaken a desalination transformation project for discharged wastewater, enabling the full recycling of high-salinity wastewater and reducing industrial water consumption. By collaborating with suppliers, the Company has prioritized the use of eco-friendly materials and minimized packaging waste, ensuring compliance with green factory standards in terms of products and services. In addition, the Company emphasizes employees’ awareness of energy conservation and carbon reduction through popularization and training, fostering a culture of energy conservation among all employees, and it also reduces energy consumption through precise energy consumption metrics and rigorous daily management.
The Conference was part of the 2024 green manufacturing system certification and review of petroleum and chemical industry organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, involving formal reviews, credit inquiries, and expert evaluations. Baotou Chemical stood out among numerous selected enterprises and was ultimately recognized as one of only 19 “Green Factories” across China.
