On October 18, Guangxi Beihai Company organized a large-scale proliferation and release activity of aquatic creatures in the waters of Yingpan Town, Tieshangang District, Beihai City, as part of its 2024 fishery resource restoration program. A total of 223.92 million aquatic creatures were released, demonstrating the Company’s commitment to safeguarding the ecological balance of the Beibu Gulf and fostering harmony between humanity and nature.
Following the release of 44.52 million newly hatched fish and shrimps in 2022, Guangxi Beihai Company held another proliferation and release activity in the waters of Tieshangang District this year. To ensure the survival rate of the released aquatic life, the Company implemented strict controls on weight, size, and quantity, with media representatives and local fishermen on site to witness the entire process.
The release featured 9 species of aquatic creatures with unprecedented quantities. Among them were Sipunculus nudus (8 million), Paphia textile (7.8 million), Lutraria sieboldii (7.8 million), Penaeus japonicus (95 million), Penaeus penicillatus Alcock (95 million), Scylla paramamosain (2.5 million), Chinese horseshoe crabs under state protection (820,000), Acanthopagrus latus (3.5 million), and Acanthopagrus schlegelii (over 3.5 million), totaling 223.92 million aquatic creatures. The coastal areas of Yingpan Town, including the mangrove and water conservation and ecological zones, the southern fisheries area of Yingpan Town, and the Coastal Wetland and Ecological Area of Beihai Silver Beach (Jinhaiwan Mangrove Wetlands), will all benefit from the release.
