Recently, as temperatures in the North China region soared, the “Blue Sea and Red Volunteerism” Youth Service Team from Cangdong Power Plant of Hebei Province carried out the “Journey of Coolness and Care” volunteer service campaign at streets and communities, aiming to bring a feeling of coolness and care to sanitation workers working in the scorching heat.
Volunteers prepared “cooling packages” containing items such as bottled water, Huoxiang Zhengqi Oral Liquid, and cooling balm to distribute to the sanitation workers. They kindly reminded that “If you experience symptoms like dizziness or nausea, make sure to rest in a cool and ventilated place in the shade, drink more water and replenish your electrolytes.” The volunteers handed out pamphlets on heatstroke prevention, patiently explained heatstroke prevention and cooling methods, and introduced knowledge on summer heatstroke, along with emergency first aid tips. They also picked up tools to clean up less noticeable garbage in flower beds, street corners, and other hidden areas, contributing to keeping the city clean. Through these simple yet heartfelt actions, the volunteers provided tangible help to the sanitation workers, demonstrating a strong sense of social responsibility and commitment of the youth in the new era.
