Recently, Sichuan Jiangyou Power Plant carried out a blood donation activity in its residential area. It has organized its employees and their families to participate in voluntary blood donation for 24 consecutive years, which kindled their passions to serve society.
At 9 a.m., as soon as the blood collection vehicle of the Mianyang Red Cross Center arrived, the employees and their families who volunteered to donate blood lined up in front of the blood donation registration office. There, they filled out relevant forms, took blood pressure checkups, blood tests and other procedures in an orderly way. After rapid blood tests, a total of 28 people were found to meet the requirements for blood donation, who donated a total of 8,200 ml of blood. Under the guidance and instructions of the staff from the blood station of the Mianyang Red Cross Center, an employee inquired his historical blood donation records through the Alipay platform, and found that he had donated 6,400 ml of blood before this donation over the 23 years.
Since it launched the first voluntary blood donation campaign in 1999, the plant has not stopped blood donations for 24 successive years. To organize this activity, the plant issued a call for blood donation to employees and their families in advance by posting notices on bulletin boards and via QQ, WeChat, and other channels. Through organizing voluntary blood donation programs for more than 20 consecutive years, the plant’s employees and their families have fully realized that donating blood is a kind of virtuous contribution for public good. In this year’s blood donation activity, they once again interpreted their excellent qualities of mutual assistance, fraternity and selfless dedication with their actions.
