Recently, Shengli Energy invested RMB300,000 to assist Yililete Gacha, Baoligen Sumu, Xilinhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, in the fight against drought, alleviating the adverse effects on animal husbandry production and helping herdsmen tide over the drought.
In the spring and summer of 2022, Yililete Gacha witnessed low rainfall, and suffered from continuous sandstorms and poor soil moisture content. This seriously hindered pastures from striking root and led to drought at varying degrees. The solutions to the problem of livestock “famine” weighed on the herdsmen’s mind. Shengli Energy carried out field surveys in Yililete Gacha, inspected pasture drought conditions, and acquired information on specific afflicted areas, quantity of livestock on hand & slaughtered, stock and gap of forage, and prevention & control of pandemic and other diseases. Shengli Energy recorded the production and living needs of the herdsmen in detail. Being fully aware of the actual situations, Shengli Energy immediately donated a drought relief fund of RMB300,000 to Yililete Gacha Committee, which is earmarked for purchasing the urgently needed materials, including forage, towerless water storage tanks and livestock watering troughs. Meanwhile, Shengli Energy assists herdsmen to carry out self-help production by selling beef and mutton to local meat processing enterprises in a targeted manner, which effectively alleviates losses from the drought.
For a long time, Shengli Energy actively explores new ways to help Yililete Gacha from “overwhelming irrigation with immediate effect” to “precise irrigation step by step”. By taking practical actions, such as providing electricity supply for herdsmen with impermanent electricity, offering jobs to herdsmen’s families, donating heating coal in winter and sponsoring Nadam Fair, Shengli Energy makes efforts for infrastructure construction, employment assistance and cultural revitalization in a multi-pronged manner, stimulates endogenous power for Gacha revitalization.
