The 2026 High-Quality Development Conference on Corporate Integrity Construction, jointly hosted by China Enterprise Reform and Development Society and the China Cooperative Trade Enterprises Association, was recently held in Beijing. At the conference, the case submitted by China Shenhua’s Zhunneng Group was recognized as the “2026 Corporate Integrity Management Best Practice,” highlighting the Company’s achievements in credit management.
The case presents Zhunneng Group’s practical approach to integrating integrity throughout the entire process of environmental protection and ecological governance. Facing prominent ecological challenges including soil erosion and desertification, Zhunneng Group adheres to the principle of “mining while restoring” and improves its ecological and environmental responsibility system, and tightens the chain of environmental responsibility. The Company implements landform reshaping, soil reconstruction, vegetation restoration, landscape recreation, and biodiversity rehabilitation and conservation. Through measures including orderly dumping, backfilling, and land reshaping, it achieves water conservation and soil stabilization. It builds sponge soil to nurture fertile farmland and configures trees, shrubs, and grasses with science-based approaches to promote positive ecological succession. At the same time, it advances targeted efforts to control dust, wastewater, and solid and hazardous waste, achieving fully closed-loop circulation and “zero discharge” of industrial wastewater, coordinated disposal and utilization of coal gangue through “covering with soil while discharging,” and full-chain compliant management of hazardous waste. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Zhunneng Group’s compliance discharge rate for major pollutants reached 100%, and both its hazardous waste disposal rate and comprehensive utilization rate of coal gangue remained at 100%.
