On 1st July, a research project titled decision making technology for line maintenance and optimization in heavy loaded rail & equipment health management system , led by Shuohuang Rail, passed the acceptance test by Experts from China Rail Association, Engineering and electricity department of National Rail Corporation, Beijing Science and Research Institute. This research project filled a management void in this field.
The research project was developed based on the maintenance and operation conditions of Shuohuang Railway. Through methodologies including comprehensive analysis, data tapping and in-site testing, and by predicting the status change pattern of line equipment, the research project eventually proposed the following models and systems: tamping prediction and decision-making model for maintenance vehicle based on track quality index, screening prediction and decision making model for maintenance vehicle based on unclean ratio of ballast bed, decision making for track change and comprehensive appraisal system for track condition. These models and systems realized three main functions including tamping maintenance prediction and optimized decision making, optimized decision making for ballast bed screening, comprehensive analysis on track status. The system, not only satisfied the requirements for line & equipment maintenance and smart health management of heavy-loaded rail, but also pushed the technology innovation in decision making for line maintenance of heavy-loaded rail. This results of the research project has wide application potential.
