Recently, the Rosco Plum bulk carrier, fully loaded with 75,000 tonnes of Indonesian coal, successfully docked at the port of Guangxi Beihai Company, marking Beihai Company the first thermal power enterprise in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to fully manage the entire process of independent coal import customs declaration and U.S. dollar settlement. It also signifies that relevant trade data has been incorporated into Beihai City’s statistical system for the first time.
This independent customs declaration and U.S. dollar settlement methods have eliminated the reliance on third-party traders, significantly reducing intermediary procurement costs, thus effectively supporting cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and providing a strong guarantee for ensuring stable energy supplies during the peak summer demand. To make the breakthrough, the Company adopted an innovative “special task force + checklist” working model, and established a “chart-based execution and node control” mechanism to decompose tasks to the specific position. It also streamlined the core links, including business license updates, customs credential filing, and tax guarantee agreement signing. In addition, the Company smoothed payment channels and built a regular communication mechanism with customs, commerce, and foreign exchange departments, successfully establishing a complete business system of independent customs declaration and U.S. dollar settlement.
The success not only provided valuable experience for the Company in ensuring stable coal supplies for coastal bases and expanding international coal trade, but also offered a practical model for other enterprises in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to explore independent foreign trade business, having positive significance for boosting maritime strength and achieving high-quality economic development.
