May 18, 2025 marked the 25th anniversary of Shuohuang Railway’s operation, with the achievement of transporting 5046.982 million tonnes of coal and 162.674 million tonnes of non-coal cargo, and a total freight exceeding 5.21 billion tonnes. The Company has maintained safe operation for 9,131 consecutive days.
Over the years, Shuohuang Railway has vigorously advanced its two major transformations: “intelligent heavy-haul” and “integrated multi-modal”, with accelerated efforts in management model upgrades and new paradigm development in smart transportation. By speeding up the development and cultivation of new quality productive forces in heavy-haul railway transport, the Company has broken the traditional “Railway Bureau—Branch Bureau—Station (Section)” management pattern through comprehensive innovation in systems, operation methods and organizational structures. In sci-tech innovation, the Company has prioritized five major areas: “intelligent operation, intelligent equipment, intelligent operation & maintenance, intelligent safety, and intelligent management”. With a total investment of over RMB 1.5 billion in R&D, the Company achieved efficient coordination and deep integration of management factors including “personnel, funds and property”, “trains, ground and networks” and “dynamic, static and variable data”, laying a solid foundation for building a sound heavy-haul railway system featuring smart, safe, efficient and eco-friendly.
Furthermore, leveraging its advantages of its favorable location, Shuohuang Railway has seized key opportunities and systematically planned the construction of a comprehensive modern logistics system centered on “channels, hubs, networks, and platforms”. The Company has actively expanded port logistics markets, closely coordinated with west China’s industrial and mining enterprises, and promoted container and rail-sea intermodal transport. Over thirty non-coal cargo categories, including bauxite, steel, cement, and chemical raw materials, have been successively loaded onto trains, with an average annual growth rate of 18.97%.
