As of April 24, the Heidaigou Open-pit Coal Mine under Zhunneng Group reported a raw coal calorific value of 4,432 kcal/kg, surpassing the initial plan by 332 kcal/kg and generating a value of efficiency improvement of RMB 70.62 million.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Heidaigou Open-pit Coal Mine has taken multiple measures to steadily improve raw coal quality and has effectively tackled the challenges posed by large fluctuations in coal seam quality due to the disruptions of mining faults. By leveraging flexible drill placement and dynamically adjusting hole network parameters based on mining and stripping conditions, the Mine has proactively verified structural weathered zones and maintained close communication with raw coal testing personnel from coal preparation plants to ensure accurate testing. The Mine conducts timely drilling, sampling, and testing to understand quality changes in real-time for mining zones where coal quality may vary due to structural influences, providing data for rational dumping of weathered coal. Furthermore, the Mine has sorted and recovered resources from the contact surface of coal rock, seam roofs and floors, and poorer coal resources affected by structure, ensuring the full capture of resource value while leaving weathered coal behind. In addition, the Mine makes full use of real-time data from the truck dispatching system, truck dispatching & reporting system, and coal quality management system, analyzing and summarizing the coal quality in the mining zones to provide accurate raw coal data for the following coal washing and sales processes.
In the production and organization links, the Mine has constantly optimized blasting designs and adjusted mining schemes to increase the screening and washing rates of raw coal with flexible arrangement for mining equipment in the upper, middle, and lower mining zones, further strengthening the advantages of divided mining and transportation, and completing coal blending from the source to improve raw coal quality and simplify subsequent washing process. Dynamic and scientific adjustments are made to the coal feeding areas and the coal feeding structure of high-quality and low-quality coal during extreme weather conditions to ensure the balanced coal feeding structure. Exploration efforts focus on targeting structure-affected zones, verifying the weathering conditions of coal seams, and rationally dumping weathered coal to maintain the steady improvement of the raw coal quality.
