As of December 19, Shuohuang Railway has dispatched over ten thousand 20,000-tonne trains for the year, totaling 10,058 trains, which included 174 million tonnes of coal transportation, laying a solid foundation for national energy supplies.
Since the beginning of 2024, the Company has sorted out difficulties in the operation of the 20,000-tonne trains in the past eight years while considering the impacts of geographical environment on transportation, including numerous bridges and tunnels along the railway, small curve radius, large slopes, and high altitude. The Company analyzed potential risks, disseminated the monthly risk reminder letter and formulated targeted measures to prevent safety risks effectively. Focusing on the equipment upgrading at 15 relief sections for 20,000-tonne trains, the Company gave full play to the advantages of scheduled operation management mode, formulated the Detailed Proposal for 20,000-tonne Train Braking and Engineering Equipment Upgrading, and overhauled the equipment monthly to ensure safe and stable static equipment. The Company implemented a “joint maintenance model” with Shuohuang’s characteristics on difficult sections to realize the integration of maintenance with construction operations, guaranteeing safe energy transportation with cost and labor reduction, as well as efficiency enhancement. The Company also strengthened communication with the three-party dispatching command center to optimally schedule the C80 10,000-tonne train towards Baoshen and Xinshuo railways directions, accurately calculated the track utilization rate and the passing capacity of turnouts in the throat area, efficiently utilized the hub station resources, and maximized its potential for receiving and dispatching trains. Furthermore, the Company improved the organizational model of Shenchi South Station, carried out a three-party verification of the C80 10,000-tonne trains’ marshaling information by the train number, clerk, and station on-duty worker, strengthened communication with the turnaround section, prevented the occurrence of situations that endangered the driving safety, including a light front part with a heavy rear one, thus further consolidating the foundation for the safe operation of 20,000-tonne trains.
