As of November 15, the Zhunchi Line of Xinshuo Railway has achieved safe operation for 10 years, with its annual freight capacity increased from the initial design of 501,000 tonnes to 70.001 million tonnes, and a total freight volume reaching 539 million tonnes, providing robust support for the stable energy supply along the main corridor for the west-to-east coal transportation of CHN Energy.
The Zhunchi Line is designed as a key national infrastructure project under the national 11th Five-Year Plan. As a National Level I dual-track automatic blocking electrified heavy-haul railway, it runs from the Waixigou Station of the Dazhun Railway in the north to the Shenchi South Station of the Shuohuang Railway in the south, spanning 196 kilometers across six districts/counties in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Shanxi Province. Serving as a vital route for transporting coal and general logistics between the two regions, its operation marked the integration of CHN Energy’s north-south transportation channels. Since the launch of 20,000-tonne heavy-haul train service on December 21, 2023, 300 trains have been dispatched, substantially alleviating the train disintegration pressure at Shenchi South Station, enhancing throughput capacity and improving the operational efficiency of CHN Energy’s main railway corridor.
In recent years, according to the in-depth analysis of coal transportation trends based on resource distribution and railway network layout, Xinshuo Railway has fully implemented the resource acquisition strategy emphasizing “One Axis and Two Areas + Two Regions,” focusing on concentrated transportation, transportation capacity, and distribution to optimize the regional advantages of its Zhunchi, Bazhun, and Dazhun Lines. Upstream cargo collection has been strengthened to ensure a stable freight supply for the three lines. Xinshuo Railway has actively advanced the construction of loading bases, with 22 dedicated lines now in operation, further enhancing transport channel capacity. Prioritizing digital innovation and technological leadership, it has advanced the development of cutting-edge technologies such as hydrogen energy and in-phase power supply, earning 187 technological achievements to foster strong technological support for stable energy supply.
