Shuohuang Railway Put China’s First Heavy-haul Railway Dispatching Center’s Centralized Control Model into Operation

At 11:18 AM on June 30, the issuance of Dispatch Order No. 30001 marked the official operation of China’s first heavy-haul railway dispatching center’s centralized control model on the Shuohuang Railway, the second-largest west to east coal transport corridor in China.

The Shuohuang Railway dispatching center’s centralized control model transforms the vertical management system of train dispatchers and station duty attendants of the Huangda Railway into a horizontal management system of train dispatchers and centralized control dispatchers, which makes Shuohuang Railway the first in the nation to achieve station centralized control within a dispatch and command center, setting a new example for smart heavy-haul transport. By implementing an integrated management model of “dispatch and command + centralized control center + station emergency duty”, the dispatch and command path is shortened, significantly enhancing operational efficiency. The number of train operation personnel has been reduced from 65 to 13, effectively lowering operating costs. The application of equipment including the CTC centralized control terminal, train operation status monitoring system, flat shunting remote monitoring system, and intelligent anti-slip system of station gradually reduces the labor intensity of dispatch and on-field personnel, accelerating the realization of digital management, centralized control, and unmanned duty.

The official launch of the centralized control model represents a giant step towards the smart and digital transformation of heavy-haul railway transportation. It is a practical move towards fostering new quality productive forces and plays a positive role in optimizing the layout of transportation industry productivity, enhancing transport production efficiency, and further reducing railway operation and maintenance costs.
