As of September 9, the cumulative number of the “2+0” unit 10,000-tonne trains operating along the Baoshen (Baotou-Shenmu) Railway had reached 20,101, transporting a total of 170 million tonnes of coal. This achievement provides a strong impetus for energy supply and plays a vital role in ensuring the complete victory of the “100-day campaign” to improve the quality and efficiency of production and operation.
The “2+0” unit 10,000-tonne train is composed of two new 12-axle AC locomotives, which drags carriages from the head. Compared with the traditional “2+2” 10,000-tonne train pulled by four combined locomotives, it can save locomotives and crew by up to 50%, thus greatly improving the utilization rate and transportation efficiency of locomotives. In order to use this type of traction mode in a mature way as soon as possible, fully meet the needs of integrated operation and management, better tap into the transportation potential, and maximize the demand for energy supply and transportation, the dispatching command center has strengthened coordination and communication with the loading stations along the line, actively organized coal sources, and maximized the number of “2+0” unit 10,000-tonne trains. By constantly revising, improving, and optimizing the “2+0” traction mode locomotive operation method, the locomotive subsidiary strives to strengthen the daily guidance of train management personnel, enhance skills training on new-type AC locomotives for crew members, and continuously improve the safe operation of locomotives. At the same time, through continuously upgrading the maintenance and repair technology of the 12-axis new AC locomotive, the company further guarantees the quality of the locomotive and provides sufficient and rational mechanical guarantee for meeting the overall transport needs of energy supply.
