As of August 13, Xinshuo Railway’s 10,000-tonne heavy-haul train trips had accumulated to 10,480 this year, with 105.02 million tonnes of goods transported, providing strong support for guaranteeing energy supply.

Since the beginning of this year, Xinshuo Railway has been focusing on developing its main business of cargo transportation, optimizing transport organization, expanding channels, leveraging its transport strength supported by “one department, two centers, and four units” and giving full play to its role as a consortium integrating factories, mines, railroads and stations. Efforts have been made to strengthen the coordination of operational links, adhere to the principle of “transporting as much coal as possible and smoothening the operation of every train,” raise awareness of its duty to guarantee energy supply, advance reforms of “2+0” traction of 10,000-tonne trains by SS4B and SS4G DC locomotives and shift scheduling of railway crews, optimize electric locomotive maintenance cycle, and ensure an average daily supply of 128 mainline locomotives.

Through reasonable arrangement of locomotive scheduling and grouping, the company has effectively reduced the heavy-haul train grouping and departure duration at the departure station as well as the docking time at the terminal station, cut the parking time to 3.8 hours, and increased the station exchange rate by 26.4% year-on-year. It has worked to contribute to the construction of a provincial pilot project for multimodal transportation of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region while continuing to explore new non-coal resources such as kaolin clay and fly ash. Meanwhile, the company has left no stone unturned to further improve the quality of locomotive preparation and maintenance to ensure that locomotives operate in a “healthy” way during the summer peak season for energy consumption.
