On July 16, Baoshen Railway deployed a total of 307 locomotives, the highest in a single day since preparations began to guarantee energy supply for this year’s summer peak season.
Responding to China Energy’s requirements to ensure the supply of power coal for this year’s summer peak season, Baoshen Railway has made every effort to optimize train scheduling to make sure every single tonne of coal is transported on a timely, efficient way. With this responsibility in mind, the company fully leveraged its integrated transport advantages, overcame the scorching heat along the lines under its jurisdiction, and facilitated coordination and collaboration among all links to improve transport capacity. Since the beginning of July, locomotive availability has been constantly increased to hit record highs.
In order to maximize its transportation potential and enhance transportation capacity, the company further increased the deployment of new AC locomotives such as Guoneng 8-axle, 12-axle, and 24-axle locomotives, scheduled additional “3+0”, “2+0”, “1+1”, and “1+0” 10,000-tonne trains, strengthened communication with all stations along the route for earlier preparations, kept a close eye on the coal source and train deployment at all loading stations, marshalled trains for hauling operations in a scientific and rational manner, and effectively cut the time used for heavy-haul train marshalling and departure at departure stations and the time used for cargo delivery at destination stations. Meanwhile, efforts were also made to further improve the quality and process of locomotive assembly and strictly control the key links throughout the process, which ensures safe operation of the locomotives and effectively guarantees the transportation of energy resources.
