Xinshuo Railway issued a dispatch order to open the Longwangqu Freight Station special line of its Dazhun (Datong-Jungar) Railway on July 10.
Longwangqu Freight Station is located in Xuejiawan Town in the eastern core mining area of Jungar Banner, Inner Mongolia, with a radiation radius of 40 kilometers covering about 30 coal mines that produce more than 100 million tonnes of coal in total each year. The exceptional geographical advantage makes it a key “rail instead of road” project of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The special rail line starts from the northern side of the east exit of the Longwangqu Freight Station of the Dazhun Railway and stretches 3.38 kilometers before being connected with K251+585.04 point of Track 6. It has a designed annual shipping capacity of 10 million tonnes, which is expected to rise to 15 million tonnes in the future.
The special line will leverage its channel advantages to transport freight to four ports in the north such as Qinhuangdao via the Datong-Jungar and Datong-Qinhuangdao railways; to Huanghua Port and Shandong market via the Datong-Jungar, Jungar-Shenchi, Shuozhou-Huanghua, and Huanghua-Dajiawa railways; and to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and northeastern markets via the Jining-Tongliao and Jining-Zhangjiakou railways.
