Tianjin Port recently achieved the goal of consuming no water from the municipal water supply system, laying a solid foundation for building itself into a green port.
In achieving the goal, Tianjin Port optimized management to improve efficiency and revolutionized the equipment to improve efficacy. It used high-pressure water hoses to collect water, improving the efficiency in recycling ballast water by 29 percent.
In recent years, Tianjin Port has put forth goals of discharging no storm sewage or consuming no water from the municipal water supply system, renovated and upgraded the sewage treatment system in the storage yard, and built sewage treatment facilities for the eastern and western auxiliary building areas, storage yard and car dumping workshop. Self-circulation of water supply system has been achieved. Its daily capacity for sewage treatment has reached 6,000 tons, and the overall capacity for sewage treatment increased 5-folds.
