Shenhua Railway Equipment Company Runs Multi-modal Transport System on Regular Basis

As of May 13, Shenhua Railway Equipment Company, a subsidiary of China Energy, had run 101 trains on a regular basis under its smart multi-modal transport system, shipping 177,200 tons of cargoes annually. The regular operation of the trains marked a new breakthrough in China’s multi-modal transport demonstration program, laying a solid foundation for the successful acceptance of the project.

Shenhua Railway Equipment’s independently-developed multi-functional freight trains serving China’s multi-modal transport demonstration program allow direct loading of cargoes from freight lorry. They can also carry semitrailers, cargo compartments and containers, so as to realize seamless connection of road and rail transportation and improve the freight efficiency, thus winning consumer approval and building the company’s brand in the multi-modal transport sector. In addition, the company leveraged its advantage as a professional railway solution provider and integrated its transport resources toward the goal of market-oriented transformation. Its logistics and multi-modal transport services have become an important part in the group company’s industrial layout.

Since earlier this year, the company has been expanding cooperation with premium clients in long-distance bulk cargo transport on the principle of maximizing benefits. It made full use of its multi-modal transport network, well-connected road network and direct rail transport service to eastern coastal ports to attract cargoes from various sources.
