“The research and application of key technology for safe and efficient coal recovery in high-seam large-section mined-out areas,” a program conducted by Shendong Coal Group, won a First Prize in Science and Technology awarded by China Occupational Safety and Health Association on March 16.
Making innovations across the board from theory to materials and technology, the program reveals the mechanism for wall rock instability in high-seam mined-out areas. It put forth a new method of rapidly passing mined-out areas with soft-mold pillars, developed new types of supporting materials and systems for ultra-high mined-out areas, and created coordinated yielding prop technology, making it possible to advancing mining face rapidly through high-seam areas and supporting the ceiling of mine-out areas. The result of the research has been applied in many mining faces and created considerable social and economic benefits.
China Occupational Safety and Health Association presented the awards to accelerate scientific and technological breakthroughs in safety production, occupational health and emergency management. It supports the R&D, reserve and application of key technologies and equipment for forestalling major production safety and occupational health accidents.
