DigitalTech Co., Ltd.'s Smart Coal Chemical Key Technologies and Applications Recognized as Internationally Leading

Recently, the achievement Key Technology Research and Application of Smart Coal Chemical Industry, initiated by the DigitalTech Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shenhua Energy Company Limited, successfully passed the scientific and technological achievement evaluation organized by the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC). The evaluation panel encompasses senior experts from Sinopec, CNPC, CNOOC, and leading domestic universities, with expertise covering the entire spectrum of energy, chemical, and digital technologies. After comprehensive review, the panel unanimously agreed that the overall technology has reached an internationally leading level in the coal chemical industry.

This project precisely addresses critical pain points in large-scale coal chemical operations, including high cross-base coordination difficulties, significant safety management pressures, extensive equipment maintenance, low energy efficiency, pervasive data silos, and traditional, cumbersome, fragmented processes, successfully establishing a self-developed and controllable chemical industrial internet platform. Leveraging a cloud-edge-device architecture and a four-level plant foundation, it has achieved comprehensive data governance and the development of five major business synergies, complemented by an industrial control defense system and a proprietary mechanistic model library. This has formed a comprehensive core technology system encompassing top-level planning, data governance, digital modeling, mechanistic models, and group-level management and control, and constituted a scalable, integrated smart coal chemical solution.

Currently, the project's outcomes have been implemented at scale across nine chemical subsidiaries and 22 coal-to-liquids and coal-to-chemicals enterprises under CHN Energy, resulting in significant improvements in economic efficiency, intrinsic safety, and energy conservation and carbon reduction. Going forward, the company will continue to iteratively optimize the core platform and technological capabilities, accelerate the deployment of innovative applications such as industry-specific large models, intelligent sensing, and data synergy, and effectively support the high-end, diversified, green, and intelligent transformation of the coal chemical industry.
