On November 10, the medium-thick to thin seam shearer, primarily developed by Shendong Coal, underwent its first major above-ground overhaul after completing continuous underground service. During its operation across three fully mechanized mining faces, the equipment achieved a cumulative output exceeding 6.38 million tonnes, with a monthly average of 365,000 tonnes. It operated stably with no major component failures, setting a new record for similar mining equipment and demonstrating exceptional continuous operational capability and reliability.
This shearer is designed for high-intensity mining in coal seams ranging from 1.6 to 3.4 meters in thickness. It features a heavy-duty, modular architecture, with core performance metrics leading in its mining height range. The total installed power reaches 1,590 kW, with haulage power increased by 38.9% and cutting power by 35.4% compared to the JOY 7LS1A model. Both key parameters are the highest among similar equipment, providing robust power support for high-efficiency mining.
The equipment has achieved several technological breakthroughs: the ranging arm transmission system, through parameter optimization, increased tooth width by over 15%, significantly enhancing load capacity; the body connection utilized a combination of intelligent long and short hydraulic tie rods with hydraulic nuts, enabling fast and reliable fastening; the traction sprocket was upgraded to a “rack wheel + root gear” design, and the bearings featured a maintenance-free structure, substantially reducing operational and maintenance costs. Furthermore, the integrated automated coal cutting and programmed cutting systems comprehensively elevate the intelligent level and operational assurance capability, meeting the demands of complex seam mining.
