It was recently announced by the China National Coal Association that Shendong Coal Baode Coal Mine’s case, Separated Bed Grouting Backfilling Technology and Its Application at Baode Coal Mine, has been selected for the National Advanced Coal Mine Backfilling Technology Case Collection. The project involved renovating a Coal gangue turnover warehouse and constructing a grouting station, utilizing high-pressure slurry injection to control surface subsidence and achieve underground gangue storage. This delivers dual benefits of “zero surface discharge of solid waste + water-preserved mining”, providing a new solution for ecological protection in the Yellow River Basin and supporting the mine’s green transformation.
The technology involves drilling ground directional boreholes and injecting gangue-based slurry under high pressure into separated bedrock layers. This utilizes the load-bearing capacity of the solidified slurry to control key stratum fracturing and reduce surface subsidence, while simultaneously achieving permanent underground storage of gangue. This fulfills the dual goals of “using gangue to control subsidence and preserve water”, realizing the dual benefits of “zero surface discharge of solid waste + water-preserved mining”, and contributing to ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.
Building on the existing system, Shendong Baode Coal Mine will further explore pathways for surface subsidence reduction, release coal resources overlaid in the mine field, and improve resource recovery rates. Concurrently, it will deepen research in areas such as large-scale gangue utilization and the development of separation spaces in atypical key strata, aiming to establish the Baode Experience as a “golden key” for the green transformation of other mines facing similar complex conditions nationwide.
