Recently, the transparent geological supporting system construction project in the Shendong Mining Area successfully passed completion acceptance. The establishment of this system marks a new stage of deep empowerment for Shendong Coal in such core areas as geological supporting, disaster prevention and control, and intelligent mining, setting an innovative paradigm for high-quality development in the coal industry.
Focusing on the workplace safety of the mine, the project converges advanced technologies such as cloud computing, Geographic Information System (GIS), and Virtual Reality (VR), to shape China’s first independently developed, multi-dimensional cloud GIS platform tailored for coal mines, effectively solving industry “bottleneck” technical issues. The system develops a high-precision, unified 2D & 3D geological model with real-time data fusion and dynamic updates, achieving digital and transparent management of geological information and hidden disaster-causing factors at the mining area level, significantly enhancing disaster early warning capabilities. This project remodels traditional geological work that relied on 2D drawings and manual processing, facilitating a revolutionary leap from ordinary 2D mapping to a comprehensive 3D visualization.
As the core support of the system, the coal mine-specific multi-dimensional cloud GIS platform has innovatively built an integrated system featuring “data management-graphics processing-3D modeling”, overcoming industry-longstanding technical barriers related to “difficult geological modeling and challenging model updates” by leveraging the 2D & 3D-integrated architecture. The system was certified as an internationally leading level, organized by the sci-tech achievement appraisal of the China National Coal Association.
Currently, the transparent geological supporting system has been adopted as a standard application in Shendong Geotechnical Company and various mines, deeply integrating into the entire geotechnical workflow. In addition, it has become the central platform for geological data processing, significantly improving operational efficiency and data accuracy.
