On October 25, the 2024 “Data Elements X” Competition concluded its national finals with an awards ceremony in Beijing. Led by Digital Intelligence Big Data Company, the “Vast Waves · Calm Rivers” team from Sichuan Province, distinguished itself among thousands of competitors with the second prize in the national finals for the Emergency Management category by the project of Basin Flood Disaster Monitoring, Prevention and Control Based on the “Cloud Hydropower” Platform.
Based on the construction of the data element platform for industry-academia-research collaboration in flood disaster management by the Sichuan Smart Hydropower Engineering Technology Center, the project focuses on the application of advanced technologies including the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Privacy Computing to facilitate cross-regional, trans-subject data collection & governance, reliable sharing and integrated applications, supporting high-reliability monitoring, high-precision prediction, and high-efficiency response to basin flood disaster prevention and control. By developing data components and constructing a reliable circulation platform for flood disaster data elements, the project integrates multi-party subject data chains between upstream and downstream sectors within the industry, achieves data synergy, integration and multiplexing, and provides a new model for basin water conservancy based on “spatial balance and integrated prevention and control”.
The “Data Elements X” competition is China’s first large-scale event focusing on data elements development and application. It aims to select solutions of the data elements development and applications with notable effects, strong innovation capacities, and positive leading impacts, facilitating the growth of related technological industries. The event spans multiple categories, covering a full competition schedule from regional preliminaries to the national finals.
