Shendong’s First 5G Low-Frequency Intrinsic Safety Base Station Was Put into Operation at Cuncaota Coal Mine

On September 26, Shendong Coal’s Cuncaota Coal Mine integrated its steel wire rope inspection robot for the No.22 main coal transportation system with a newly-deployed 5G low-frequency intrinsic safety base station system, enabling long-distance wireless communication and data transmission, further optimizing the robot’s communication and control systems, and guaranteeing the safety and efficiency of coal mining operations.

Coal mine tunnels and small enclosed scenarios pose a significant challenge for signal transmission. Powered by the 5G NR low-frequency technology, the 5G low-frequency intrinsic safety base station system boasts strong signal penetration capabilities, ensuring stable transmission even in complex underground environments. This system provides extensive coverage throughout underground areas, eliminating signal blind spots and offering reliable support for comprehensive monitoring and management of mining activities. Furthermore, featuring WIFI6 and 5G NR wireless signal coverage, it allows devices like smartphones to connect to the network, facilitating data transmission, voice and video calls, thus improving communication efficiency for underground workers.

The implementation of this 5G low-frequency intrinsic safety base station system not only provides robust technical support for the intelligent inspection robot but also ensures the real-time upload of inspection data due to its high-speed and low-latency features. This allows the dispatch control center to monitor the operational status of the underground transportation system in real time, enabling the early detection of potential issues and preventing accidents. Furthermore, the system’s long-distance wireless communication capability extends the robot’s inspection range, breaking the limitations of traditional short-range signals and enhancing both inspection coverage and efficiency.
