Recently, the hydrological management system at Shendong Coal’s Bu’ertai Coal Mine was successfully upgraded and officially put into operation, marking a new phase of intelligent groundwater level monitoring and early warning capabilities. This progress addresses the challenges of real-time and accurate monitoring of water level changes in aquifers within the mine area, providing more robust data support for safe production of coal mine.
Bu’ertai Coal Mine covers an extensive area with scattered field observation stations, some of which are far from the main station, leading to data transmission delay and monitoring efficiency reduction. To solve the problem, the mine worked closely with equipment suppliers to fully upgrade the remote communication modules of the original system and optimize the database structure, ensuring efficient data transmission and processing. The upgraded hydrological management system consists of a central ground monitoring station and 20 field observation stations, shaping a comprehensive monitoring network covering the entire mine. The central station integrates system control, data communication, and data processing, while each substation is equipped with advanced computer systems responsible for data collection, conversion, and storage. The upgraded communication system ensures seamless connectivity between the main station and sub-stations, enabling real-time remote data transmission.
With the upgraded system, the monitoring center is able to receive and process water pressure data from all stations in real-time and integrate it into the hydrological information database. The system automatically generates data reports and water level fluctuation curves, providing the mine’s geological water prevention and control office with a visual tool for analyzing groundwater changes, thus enhancing early warning capabilities.
Pang Changqing, a technician from the mine’s geological water prevention and control office, noted, “The upgraded hydrological management system has improved the real-time monitoring of water level changes and scheduled telemetry, providing a solid data foundation for our hydrological management and further ensuring the safe production of coal mine”.
