Xinshuo Railway’s informatization project “Datong-Zhunge’er Railway Big Data-based Lifecycle Track Cycle Management Platform” recently passed the final inspection and was officially put into operation. The platform realizes all-round track status monitoring and lifecycle management, providing strong support for promoting the company’s transition towards intelligent safety management.
The lifecycle track management platform effectively integrates the main process data resources of the whole life cycle of rail tracks ranging from laying to maintenance, repair, and replacement, and achieves the unified management and analysis of ledger data of professional railway equipment. It uses technologies like artificial intelligence and big data to accumulate and aggregate track data, especially track damage data, and then combines with data and information from more dimensions such as total weight, weather, flaw detection, and operation and maintenance to predict damage developments and correlations, make major maintenance decisions, manage rail maintenance, and realize rail damage scoring and other functions. The platform can make suggestions for large- and medium-scale repair decision-making based on the developments of rail damage and achieve lifecycle track management, thus ensuring the safety of railway transportation infrastructure.
The application of this platform makes railway operation and maintenance upgrade from state-based or planned repair and inspection to predictive repair and inspection, improving the efficiency of rail operation and maintenance as well as relevant management work. Moreover, through the information sharing mechanism between different systems, it achieves lifecycle detection and analysis of railway equipment, and further promote the realization of intelligent safety management of railway operations.
