Shendong Coal and Huawei recently conducted in-depth discussions on partnerships in advancing digital transformation, building smart mines, and delivering on their strategies.
The two sides agreed that it is a matter of national economy and smart society to promote the coal industry, an important traditional energy sector in China, to go smart. China has pledged to promote integration of the digital technology with the real economy, empower the transformation of traditional industries, and make coal mines, oil and gas fields and power plants smart during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. This is the strategic foundation for the two sides to strengthen cooperation for a win-win outcome.
The two sides have agreed to establish partnerships in areas of digital transformation, smart mines, cloud service, big data, artificial intelligence and 5G network. In terms of technological cooperation, Shendong Coal has made a preliminary plan for building smart coal mines. Huawei can contribute its expertise to reviewing, diagnosing and correcting Shendong’s plan and the corresponding implementation. Combining Huawei’s technological strengths and Shendong’s application scenario, the two sides will jointly promote high-quality development of Shendong Coal and gain experience for the entire coal industry to go digital and create higher values. As for cooperation in standards, the two sides will give full play to their leading roles in their respective industry. On the basis of setting up standards for building intelligent Shendong mines, they will work to establish standards for China Energy in this regard and push forward the group’s intelligent transformation. In strategic cooperation, the two sides will leverage their advantages of platforms, expand the ecosystem to coal machinery manufacturing and IT industries, revolutionize the industrial and supply chains, and solve development problems for the entire coal industry. This is a way Huawei and Shendong Coal fulfill their political, economic and social responsibilities and is also their common pursuit.
