China Shenhua’s Huanghua Port has recently passed the on-site evaluation for smart port grading assessment conducted by the China Ports & Harbours Association. It achieved the highest score among dry bulk ports since the program’s inception and was consequently rated as a Four- Star Smart Port.
The evaluation was organized by the China Ports & Harbours Association. Following the prescribed criteria, the expert panel conducted a comprehensive assessment of Huanghua Port’s smart port development through briefings, site inspections, Q&A sessions, document reviews, and deliberative discussions. After a rigorous and standard collective review, the panel unanimously agreed that Huanghua Port demonstrates industry-leading capabilities in intelligent management, facilities and equipment, information technology, and digital- intelligent services, and that it fully satisfies the requirements for the Four-Star Smart Port rating, thus successfully passing the on-site evaluation.
As the largest coal loading port in China, Huanghua Port has consistently prioritized resolving the critical challenges and technical bottlenecks inherent in the digital transformation of dry bulk ports throughout its smart port development. Through sustained efforts in problem-solving and innovation-driven empowerment, it has achieved a series of landmark accomplishments. To date, the Port has fully established an independent and controllable smart port architecture, released CE-TOS, the first intelligent production operating system with wholly independent intellectual property rights in China’s dry bulk port sector, built a comprehensive technological framework covering intelligent decision-making, collaborative control, equipment-level automation, and industrial core systems. It has also deployed a digital twin system, enabling end-to-end integration across the entire unloading, stockpiling, reclaiming and loading operational chain, and delivering unmanned, intelligent, and precise management throughout all processes.
