Recently, at the western return air shaft of Xinjie Energy’s Xinjie No.1 Mine, excavation successfully reached depths between -796.2 meters and -797.36 meters, where the first recoverable coal seam was unveiled. This breakthrough marks a critical phase in Xinjie Energy’s years-long underground construction efforts and represents the first coal seam exposure in the Xinjie Taigemiao Mining Area, signifying a milestone achievement.
The Xinjie Taigemiao Mining Area is a national key project approved by the State Council, a pilot unit for the construction of a Harmonious Mining Area endorsed by the National Development and Reform Commission, and the sole major follow-up project in China Shenhua’s integrated core zone. The western return air shaft of Xinjie No.1 Mine is a crucial infrastructure project for Xinjie Energy. With a net diameter of 7 meters and a depth of 874 meters, the project is characterized by its large scale and complex geological conditions. Traversing multiple aquifers while ensuring shaft wall quality, it posed significant technical and management challenges.
To ensure the safe and smooth unveiling of the coal seam, specialized departments collaborated closely. A detailed construction plan was developed in advance, specifying operational procedures and technical requirements for each stage. Comprehensive safety measures were implemented, with thorough risk assessment and pre-control. Preliminary geological exploration was conducted using geophysical and drilling technologies to accurately determine coal seam occurrence. Technical forces were organized to systematically measure gas parameters, providing a scientific basis for safe excavation.
The successful unveiling of the first recoverable coal seam has ignited enthusiasm among all Xinjie Energy staff and workers, injecting strong momentum into subsequent construction. Building on this milestone, Xinjie Energy will steadily advance toward its established goals, contributing to the high-quality development of China Shenhua.
