The 2025 Enterprise Integrity Construction and High-Quality Development Conference, jointly organized by the China Enterprise Reform and Development Society and the China Cooperative Trade Enterprises Association, was recently held in Fuzhou. At the conference, Zhunneng Group’s case, Safety Management Escorts Integrity Construction—Integrated Human and Technical Safety Management Practices at CHN Energy Zhunneng Group, was recognized as a 2025 Typical Case of Corporate Integrity Management, establishing a benchmark model for safety and integrity development in the open-pit mining industry.
As a main force in national energy supply, the Group bears the significant responsibility of producing 69 million tonnes of coal annually, with its single-pit output ranking among the highest in the industry. Facing the safety challenges posed by high-intensity production operations, the Group has consistently treated safety integrity as a cornerstone of its development. It has established a comprehensive safety production management mechanism, clarified responsibilities, strengthened supervision, and enhanced safety awareness and capabilities across the organization. Guided by the strategy of strengthening safety through technology, the Group has continuously increased investments in intelligent systems, using technological innovation to address industry-wide safety challenges. The Heidaigou Open-Pit Mine and its associated coal preparation plant passed the national acceptance inspection for the first batch of intelligent demonstration coal mines with high scores, achieving an intermediate level standard and setting a national benchmark in China’s open-pit mining sector. The innovative Zhunneng Solution developed from practices has achieved major breakthroughs in key areas such as effectively preventing slope sliding hazards, driverless technology, intelligent explosive penetration, intelligent coal washing and selecting, and intelligent loading. During the launch ceremony of the 2024 National Work Safety Month, the Group, as the sole representative from the national energy sector, participated via video link at the main venue in Beijing, fully demonstrating its technological achievements in slope safety monitoring and intelligent mine construction.
In recent years, the Group has consistently treated work safety as the core of its integrity management. By building an integrated human and technical prevention control system, it has maintained a continuously and steadily improving safety production. Moving forward, the Group will align with the national energy security strategy, firmly pursue high-quality development, and focus on intrinsic safety, intelligence and efficiency, as well as green and low-carbon initiatives. It will strengthen safety management, strive to establish a operation model for a 30-million-tonne ultra-large open-pit single mine with fewer personnel, and build a world-class open-pit mine characterized by integrated management, intelligent mining, heavy-duty equipment, professional teams, refined operations, and ecological sustainability, thereby continuously reinforcing the foundation of integrity operation including work safety.
