Recently, the China Electricity Council released the association standard – Management Specification for Safe Use of Pneumatic Tools. Spanning more than 3 years, the Standard was developed by a working group led by China Shenhua in cooperation with GD Power, Guoyuan Power, etc.
Initiated in March 2020, the working group drawn upon the enterprise systems of CHN Energy and China Shenhua and conducted a thorough analysis of the representative pneumatic tool management experiences in domestic power companies. In accordance with the requirements for standard formulation, extensive consultation was sought from industry experts to generate and release the final standard after rounds of revisions .
Based on risk control, the Standard explicitly identifies the potential hazards in the use of pneumatic tools, establishing methods and mechanisms for daily risk analysis and setting forth comprehensive on-site management requirements for the entire process of pneumatic tool acceptance, storage, preparation, usage, inspection, and disposal. The Standard also stipulates requirements for the quality status integrity and safe operating procedures of 11 commonly used pneumatic tools.
The release of the Management Specification for Safe Use of Pneumatic Tools provides an effective approach for standardized management of pneumatic tools, playing an important role in improving the safety production management and further leveraging the technical leadership of CHN Energy and China Shenhua in the industry.
