On April 28, Shengli Energy organized youth volunteers to carry out voluntary service at the Nine Bends of Xilin River, with the theme of “Protecting the Mother River Together”, contributing to environmental conservation and ecological civilization construction with practical actions.
During the event, volunteers in red vests held trash pickers to collaborate in actions. They meandered along the riverbank to perform a comprehensive sweep for debris such as plastic bags, discarded paper, and cigarette butts, aiming to protect the environment through tangible actions. After a whole morning of cleaning, more than 30 bags of rubbish were collected, leaving the riverbank to take a new look, effectively protecting the environment of Xilin River.
This endeavor marks a small contribution to ecological civilization construction, as it practices with concrete actions that “to protect the environment is to protect productivity, and to improve the environment is to boost productivity”. All the volunteers agreed that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, and lush environment bestowed upon us by the Earth is a precious treasure. They expressed a wish to summon more volunteers to join the efforts in safeguarding the Xilin River, and to make contributions to shaping a green ecological security barrier in Northern China.
