On August 6, within just an hour, Baode Squadron of Rescue and Fire Brigade of Shendong Coal Group and Xinzhou Municipal Fire Brigade of Shanxi Province worked together to rescue two persons, who accidentally fell into a cellar. Evidently, local people’s lives are always protected.
At AM 8:20 on August 6, Baode Squadron of Rescue and Fire Brigade of Shendong Coal Group received a rescue call from the local police. It turned out that two persons fell into a cellar in Quanjiaping Village, Qiaotou Town, Baode County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. At this point, rescue service was urgently needed. The alarm bell rang immediately in Baode Squadron. Eight firefighters of Squad No.2 on duty quickly set out and rushed to Wangjiaping Village.
After on-site inquiry and investigation, it was found that two persons were trapped in the cellar, and one of them was in a coma. Initial medical observation revealed that comatose person was experiencing hypoxia for his blue lips and face. Firefighters of Shendong Coal Group immediately developed a rescue plan together with Xinzhou Municipal Fire Brigade. They borrowed a medical 40-liter oxygen cylinder from the nearest hospital, thereby increasing the oxygen content in the cellar. The entrance to the cellar was 50 cm wide, available for only one person. The on-site firefighters quickly erected a rescue tripod, entered the cellar many times, and finally rescued the two trapped persons out from the cellar.
