On August 30, Huanghua Port was shortlisted for the second batch of National Science Popularization Base for Transportation, which was jointly released by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Science and Technology, becoming the first approved professional dry bulk port in China.
The review, naming, management and evaluation of the National Science Popularization Base for Transportation is jointly held responsible by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Base is of great significance to promoting transportation sci-tech innovation and popularization. Huanghua Port received unanimous recognition of the expert panel after rounds of selection.
In recent years, Huanghua Port has been focusing on tackling the pain points of dust pollution, coal-containing sewage treatment, and intelligent handling in the coal port sectors. The independent innovation efforts have witnessed progress and breakthroughs. As China’s first coal port to be rated as an AAA-level industrial tourist attraction, integrating industrial tourism, eco-tourism, and science popularization on environmental protection, Huanghua Port built a science popularization system of coal energy port featuring a trinity of “pioneer with guaranteed energy supply, advanced port with hardcore technology and green ecosystem with near-zero carbon”. With efforts in popularizing the key node strategy of coal transportation, learning from the world-class intelligent and efficient coal ports, multi-modal transport organization and green ecology demonstration bases, and promoting pilot experience of the pioneering “near-zero carbon port”, Huanghua Port sets its demonstration role of “energy port + green ecology” into play.
