Shendong Coal’s first set of door-like roof supports for gob-side entry was recently delivered to Daliuta Mine and is ready for operation on the mine’s 52606-1 gob retaining working face.
The door-like roof support is a two-column cross-girder structure that is made up of a girder, columns, column base, articulation pieces, relief valves, rubber sacs, pipeline adapters and accessories. Every column is equipped with safety valves, pilot operated check valves, self-locking globe stop valves, foot valves, mechanical double-needle anti-seismic manometer and electronic manometer. The manometers record pressure data. The scaffolds have been arranged between two rows of rock bolts on the tunnel roof in a continuous longitudinal manner. They will not destroy the rock bolts and ropes on the roof. Two ring chains were placed on both ends of the girder, which connect neighboring roof support. Explosion-proof diesel caterpillar-band carrier vehicles were used to move the roof supports. Vehicle-mounted emulsion supply system was used to hoist the roof supports.
The door-like roof supports represent the company’s another bold innovation in the tunnel roof support technology after its modular forepoling. It will advance the company’s efforts to further improve the technology of gob retaining working face.
