An engine stop alarm system independently developed by Shendong Coal was put into operation on its long-wall mining faces on November 8, cementing the foundation for the development of smart mines.

The company developed the alarm module based on its production management and control platform to improve management efficiency and lower labor intensity. With data collected from equipment underground, the module displays the operation of shearers on various coal mining faces in real time, and automatically records the shutdown time and duration. Once the shutdown hits the preset maximum timeout, the system will alarm and remind operators to respond to the situation in a timely manner. A tendency chart of the mining face operation and shutdown for 24 hours is available by clicking buttons on the status column.

Since the trial running of the system, the operation efficiency and management of the long-wall mining faces have been greatly improved.
