Railway Equipment’s Digital System Recognized as National Pilot Project of Big Data

On September 1, the Digital Operation and Management and Auxiliary Decision-making System on the Basis of Intelligent Condition-based Maintenance, developed by the Railway Equipment Company under China Energy, was recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China as a 2021 pilot demonstration project of the development of the big data industry. The Railway Equipment Company was among the 10 institutions selected for its operation and management innovation, and is the only enterprise in the railway industry recognized as a demonstration to lead the application of big data.

A group of pilot projects in the big data industry were collected and selected from four perspectives including the application of big data of the industry and business sectors respectively, key big-data projects, data management and services. By advancing the pilot projects, people can summarize the experience that can be promoted and replicated in other projects, so as to advance the digital, intelligent and internet-oriented development of enterprises and industries, and to boost economic development through applying digital technologies.

Based on the actual situation, the Railway Equipment Company proactively explored the integration and innovation of a new generation of information technology and state-owned enterprises, and strives to promote the digital transformation of traditional enterprises. The company centered on the aim to realize digital and intelligent decision-making, advanced reforms of its production organizations, developed the ecological system of operation and management data, and carried out the project of Digital Operation and Management and Auxiliary Decision-making System on the Basis of Intelligent Condition-based Maintenance.

The pilot project is divided into two phases. In the first phase, the researchers will focus on the condition-based maintenance (CBM) of heavy-haul railway, carry out systematic researches, and build multiple business platforms featuring intelligent CBM of railway equipment, intelligent dispatch and intelligent logistics, so as to advance the data-based digital transformation of production and transportation organizations.

In the second phase, the researchers will build a data center that connects the various business platforms and takes into consideration factors such as the operation and management targets, strategic layout and risk prevention and control. The data center will help realize in-depth exploitation, analysis and application of the data resources, increase all-factor production and management efficiency, and facilitate digital transformation of the company’s operation, management and decision-making.
