China’s first domestically produced contour coal mining equipment independently developed by Shendong Coal recently entered the production phase after the technological plan was verified, supporting facilities were ensured, and the design plan was reviewed. Drawing experience from foreign equipment of similar type, the equipment features innovative technological upgrading and fills a void in domestic automated mining equipment for low coal seam.
The mining equipment is made up of six parts: a drum-type mining machine, a chain actuating device, an adaptive cable trailing device, a scraper conveyer, a stage loader (including a crusher) and a self-advancing tail device. It saves coal-cutting time and improves efficiency. The height of the equipment was reduced from 850mm to 840mm, and the coal cutting width was increased from 512mm to 590mm. The adaptive cable trailing device is firmer and saves height space for the middle through. The closed-type design on the upper part of the insertion board can effectively prevent the supporting slipper of the mining machine from falling out. The scraper conveyer is capable of fully unloading coals. The loader and self-advancing tail device are stable and reliable in operation. The entire equipment system is much more automated.
The equipment helps optimize coal mining procedure, improve the efficient use of low coal seam, lower energy consumption, enhance quality, and reduce carbon emission in production, thus making a contribution to realizing the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Based on Shendong Coal’s production plan, the equipment system will be used on mining face for low coal seam measuring 1.2 to 1.4 meters.
