The inaugural ceremony of two heavy-haul railway technology laboratories jointly established by Shuohuang Railway Co., Ltd. and China Academy of Railway Sciences Corporation Limited (CARS) was held in Beijing on March 11.
Through its wholly-funded subsidiary China Energy Transportation Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., Shuohuang Railway has collaborated with the Railway Engineering Research Institute and the Signal & Communication Research Institute under CARS to establish two joint laboratories, namely the China Energy Shuohuang Heavy-haul Railway Engineering Operation and Maintenance Technology Laboratory and the China Energy Shuohuang Heavy-haul Railway Intelligent Communication & Signal Joint Laboratory.
The joint laboratories represent a practical move taken by the two sides to complement their advantages and combine CARS’ strength in technological innovation and Shuohuang Railway’s abundant heavy-haul transport application scenarios. As a major step of strategic importance taken by China Energy to participate in and lead the exploration of cutting-edge technologies in the area of heavy-haul transport, it has far-reaching influence on improving China Energy’s research capacity in heavy-haul transportation and will play a vital role in advancing high-quality development of intelligent transportation.
